Howdy.  My name is Daniel Stedman.  I am a co-founder of The L Magazine, along with my brother Scott and our amazing team, and I make films and creative projects. PUBLISHING

The L Magazine is the best culture, event & lifestyle guide in New York City.  We have been publishing for over seven eight years, and we have grown to an annual audited circulation of over 2.7 million.  We also produce the righteously kickass Northside Festival in Williamsburg, which will bring over 400 bands to Brooklyn, along with an art festival and a screening series.  We also make funny at listicles.com .   And have just recently launched Brooklyn Magazine!

FILMMAKING

In my free time, I have a passion for filmmaking and art. My first film “Celebration” was a simple & unusual coming-of-age story about a young boy. It won the Best Short Film Teddy Award at the Berlin Film Festival, and played over 100 festivals.  I recently made “The Moth and the Firefly” with my cousin Aron, which won the Bronze Palm at the Mexico International Film Festival and continues to be shown. My latest film “Babble” concerns communication, and it’s really fun. I’m developing projects about Kiki de Montparnasse, The Palm Wine Drinkard and a story about the Northwest Passage.
